i figured maybe they're canon ages but with an altered world with the supernatural at the edges. i didn't clarify if it's tokyo or what because /waves hands urban fantasy waves hands/ and i thought maybe like in canon they've been together forever as best friends but they're always toeing that line of something more. maybe they were kind of dancing around it more than usual lately?
