It wasn't trouble. [ The way he mumbles it and lets his hair fall into his face is plenty telling but he also makes a sound that's the equivalent to 'Okay'.
Then he orders for them, quietly as per his way -- the parfait for Tsukishima, and the shortcake for himself with every intention of grabbing one of their apple turnovers when they leave. He pauses, peering up as he adds, ]
Did you want something to drink?
[ There is, as one might expect, a full drink menu including various coffee drinks, bubble teas, and regular teas, also juice, also hot cocoa, etc. ]
[ He says this after a considerable pause honestly, half wanting to just say 'yes' because it would be easier; but he can manage fine really, and this is a thank-you, so it doesn't seem right. He moves to the side where people wait for orders and don't block up the cashier line, stuffing his hands into his pockets to hide the mild fidgetiness he feels. ]
[ It doesn't take long, just the two minutes for their drinks to be made -- tea and hot cocoa, which it seems is long enough for the parfait to be assembled as well. The tray is heavier than Kenma anticipated but, really, compared to training, it's fine. He sets it down carefully before taking the drinks off first, then the desserts. Then he goes to put the tray down before finally joining Tsukishima properly at the table, jacket draped over the back of his chair.
Probably hard to tell, since Kenma's face is still a little pink from the cold of outside, slow to warm up or thaw out (and then probably complain about it), but there is a faint blush in his cheeks just the same. It more than likely (read: absolutely) has to do with the fact that the person who gave him their orders had to say "You two are so cute."
The implications of course made Kenma uncomfortable. Why do people give opinions that aren't asked for??? Ugh.
He cups the sizable almost bowl of hot cocoa, and blows on it, the slight furrow to his brows almost indiscernible. ]
[ It's a lie but also not a lie! Kenma is telling himself to not be bothered, which of course means he is. But admitting it would be a real wrench in his I Do Not See It operation. So.
Again he blows on the hot cocoa, and finds it less the wrong side of scalding this time. After a sip, still not looking up, he seems like he might say something else -- shock -- but then his phone vibrates. He sets the drink down first before checking, brows rising a little at what he sees before replying. This is considered rude by most people's standards but Kenma's phone is almost less phone than security. To not be able to check and reply would be more distracting. When he's done, he does slip it back into the pocket of his hoodie and resumes hot cocoa annihilation. ]
[ That answer comes fast, easy, because Kuroo is such an ordinary natural part of his life it's not something he'd conceivably ever be evasive about. After answering he resumes the cat like sips at the cocoa, slowly starting to thaw from the inside now that they've been in the shop for a while. ]
[ Questions about Kuroo are easy and welcome in a way. Far more than anything about himself. Kenma sets his drink down to take a curious bite of his food, savoring the lightness of it -- not too sweet but bright in flavor. Up to the expectations set by the online reviews certainly! ]

So he takes this in stride.]
Tea's good. You need help carrying things?

[Tsukki doesn't insist or push. Just takes his seat and watches out the window. Until Kenma arrives with baked goods, anyway!]

[Tsukki sets his hand against the cup, checking the temperature. Too hot to drink.
He sets about adding milk and honey.]
Something bothering you?
[Yeah.
Kenma's only gonna get away with the blushing for so long. Especially paired with that eyebrow things he does.]

Who was that?
[Tsukki won't protest the interruption.
Nor will he squash curiosity. Kenma introduced the topic, after all.]

Tsukki can't say he minds being temporarily pre-empted. He'd do the same for Yamaguchi.]
Thought so. Is he still out of the country?
