could have had it aaaaaall.... my kuroo is usually the protective pining kind of type.. where he considers his dynamic with kenma way too precious to risk and is well aware of the fact that he can be a hassle to manage and doesnt want anything with kenma to have the after taste of like.. settling? i usually play kuroo like he's actively tried to have feelings for ANYONE else (usually bokuto because im a trash bag) but he just. cannot. quite. achieve the feeling he has for kenma. he can definitely be interested but what he has for kenma is very specific... on top of that he doesnt want to confuse affection for like. romantic affection. and mess everything up.

THAT makes sense. I feel like Kenma ....well he's got no comparison for Kuroo because no one comes close to being who and what he is to him. But much like what you said on that note and others, the concept of Change is terrifying for people who already hold dear what they have. kuroo is very specific for kenma too and i think that's one of the things i love about them. this sort of...honestly very soulmate like bond but it's framed in most ways by the 'realities' of the world. i think also because they do both harbor feelings in various levels of acknowledgement, it's not something they would've discussed even about 'others'. like if kuroo dated someone ever kenma would just be like o that's nice for u. meanwhile. so jealous. but also telling himself he's not. but also probably being weirdly aloof with kuroo. but also saying he's not. lmfdssdjlfdsjfl ......a cat basically.

AA YESSS i was planning on having him wig out!! in my brain i kind of foresaw it as like.. his feral self and his humanoid self fighting for dominance in one body and his feral self ultimately winning, but because there's internal torment (kuroo might not have any magic ability but he definitely has a very large amount of presence, so i dont think he'd go easily if something threatened his consciousness) theres a physical struggle too?? kenma's ability could manifest as something for kuroo's presence to cling on to.. because hes not strong enough magically to keep his form, but he and kenmas different forms of psychic ability (kenmas being magical, kuroo's being.. just bullheadedness LOL) mix well to at least keep kuroo there...

THAT SOUNDS GOOD. yeah i think it's totally sensible to have his conscious inside the transformed him warring with its animalistic nature because that's very much how i've often seen bakaneko demonstrated in terms of the animal versus the human plus the entanglement of magic. like even when it's just a normal person there's usually a struggle and kuroo IS smart and IS very much his own presence which helps. i think if kuroo can get control, he would be able to cling onto and maybe fully take over coherency if he can hook into kenma's magic, but kenma is really weak now already because he's so ignorant of his own abilities so it's just kind of like a leaking faucet now rather than a funnel of power like he was trying to do before, so kuroo might experience a push and pull with his fight with his own self as he gets more or less of a grip on kenma's power. i have kenma saying kuroo's name repeatedly in this tag because even though he's not thinking it actively, subconsciously he knows names have power, so he's hoping that's something.

THAT makes sense. I feel like Kenma ....well he's got no comparison for Kuroo because no one comes close to being who and what he is to him. But much like what you said on that note and others, the concept of Change is terrifying for people who already hold dear what they have. in my brain i kind of foresaw it as like.. his feral self and his humanoid self fighting for dominance in one body and his feral self ultimately winning, but because there's internal torment (kuroo might not have any magic ability but he definitely has a very large amount of presence, so i dont think he'd go easily if something threatened his consciousness) theres a physical struggle too??
kenma's ability could manifest as something for kuroo's presence to cling on to.. because hes not strong enough magically to keep his form, but he and kenmas different forms of psychic ability (kenmas being magical, kuroo's being.. just bullheadedness LOL) mix well to at least keep kuroo there...

THAT SOUNDS GOOD. yeah i think it's totally sensible to have his conscious inside the transformed him warring with its animalistic nature because that's very much how i've often seen bakaneko demonstrated in terms of the animal versus the human plus the entanglement of magic. like even when it's just a normal person there's usually a struggle and kuroo IS smart and IS very much his own presence which helps. i think if kuroo can get control, he would be able to cling onto and maybe fully take over coherency if he can hook into kenma's magic, but kenma is really weak now already because he's so ignorant of his own abilities so it's just kind of like a leaking faucet now rather than a funnel of power like he was trying to do before, so kuroo might experience a push and pull with his fight with his own self as he gets more or less of a grip on kenma's power. i have kenma saying kuroo's name repeatedly in this tag because even though he's not thinking it actively, subconsciously he knows names have power, so he's hoping that's something.
hm mmm maybe telepathically after kuroo has won the struggle? i think until kuroo has complete dominance within his cursed form, they won't be able to communicate at all, if that makes sense? because kenma Doesn't Know wHAT He's Doing and kuroo probably needs ALL his attention for beating...himself...before that can be channeled and hooked into kenma's magic, which is much weaker now because kenma himself is in a weakened state.

yesss that sounds excellent to me.. i like the idea of kuroo like allllllmost slipping through a few times - just garbled or sounding far away in kenma's head - but just getting yanked back into his soul room or whatever. he'll probably let the curse do whatever it wants until it comes to hurting kenma and then hes just gonna use AAAALL his energy to absolutely stop that from happening.
